These seasonal color changes are one of the
attractions of Colorado! Each season offers it's own special choice
in recreational activities, too. Always be prepared. Keep sunscreen,
gloves, and raincoats handy..you never know what the weather has in
store for you. As we say here in Colorado...If you don't like the
weather...wait, it will change!"
WINTER
The winter wonderland! Don't let the sunshine
fool you, remember the 300 days of sunshine? The sun provides plenty
of rays and can easily warm your home, but step outside and, Brrrr.
Snow falls lightly, but our coldest temperatures are seen in January.
However, one day it is 30 degrees and two days later it could be 70!
Aw, but the views of the white tipped mountain ranges and peaks is
absolutely breathtaking during these months. Don't forget your sunscreen!
SPRING
This is the wettest time of the year! Temperatures
are mild here, varying from heavy snow to warm sunny days...which creates
some serious spring fever. But here in Colorado, the snow will clear
out quickly. Leaving sunny days and the melts that will provide
the creeks, streams and rivers flowing and all the ponds,
reservoirs and lakes full.
SUMMER
This time of year in Colorado is beautiful!!
I believe that this is where the term "Colorful Colorado"
comes from The landscape is a palette of colors..from green
meadows, to crimson, violet, and yellow wildflowers in abundance...white
puffy clouds and pink sunsets really do exist! Daytime temperatures
are comfortable, with low humidity averaging in the 80's and 90's.
The afternoon showers come in and cool the evenings off.
FALL
Wait til you see the aspen turn! Gold coins
flickering against soft blue skies...the oak brush turns orange then
yellow, and yet the pines stay true to their evergreen nature. The
crisp evening air, reminds us that soon all of nature will go to sleep.
It will stay unusually mild and clear well into October with sunny
warm days and cool comfortable nights.
